we are building a new house and i know gaylen would be very excited for us and would enjoy listening and watching the progress.. itโ€™s only a few blocks away from gaylen and moms church so i know they would drop by to see it often a nice bbq would be in order when we got settled gaylen would definitely like that ๐Ÿ™‚

As my Mom would say....better late than never. I am the youngest and I survived my childhood with Gaylen as a big brother. Through all of our childhood fights, Gaylen always aimed for my throat. I am lucky that I can still talk! I complained to Gaylen a few years ago about his throat punches. He said it was not on purpose, I just had a giraffe neck!! Yeah right..... I also had a right nasal

At the time when we realized dad probably wasn't going to make it out of the hospital, someone on the Palliative Care Team asked me to share a favorite memory of dad and I kind of just froze. There are a few memories of dad that I don't care for that much, but otherwise they are all favorites. A common theme is simply him coming into a room, seeing me, smiling, and reaching out for a hug! My Dad was my best friend. I called him regularly to share what was going on in my life, good or bad, as a friend. He didn't judge me, he just supported me and listened. I can't count the times I wanted to call him to talk about his passing and how much he is missed. I love you Dad.

My Dad loved to fish. We went on several fishing/camping trips over the past several years. I had so much fun planning the trips and seeing my Dad and Connie relax as we went out on the boat. Whether we caught fish or not, we certainly made some memories.
